Mowing and strimming
With my background in golf greenkeeping I have extensive experience in mowing and strimming grass to a high standard of presentation. With a professional 53cm metal deck mower for larger or more over-grown lawns, with the option of a smaller 42cm plastic deck mower for smaller lawns or where access is more difficult, I can mow lawns of all types, and strim the edges as standard for a nice neat finish.
HEDGE TRIMMING

Hedge trimming is a particular speciality for me and I have a great eye for how best to shape a hedge for maximum visual impact. With a 12ft tripod ladder and telescopic long reach trimmer as well as a standard hand held trimmer, I can tackle hedges of all sizes and produce a tight, eye catching finish that will make them a strong feature of any garden, whilst always adhering to guidelines regarding nesting birds.
SHRUB AND TREE PRUNING
I can reshape shrubs and trees with the aforementioned power tools, am qualified to do chainsaw work, or where more accuracy and finesse is required, I have a full range of hand tools for pruning as existing condition and season dictates. In terms of trees, I can only work to the height my ladder and long reach trimmer, chainsaw or pruner can reach (anything beyond this I would recommend hiring a tree surgeon).
LAWN CARE AND RENOVATION
When I started my gardening business I began by putting into practice the techniques I learned through golf course turf management. In the ensuing years I have learned how to adapt my approach to different lawn/grass types, soil structures and existing conditions, and am now extremely confident of providing an effective programme of aeration, scarification, seeding and nutrient application to improve any type of lawn and sustain it through the seasons. My approach to chemical use is that I will always look to use organic products where possible, although the reality is that there are certain situations where these are not sufficiently effective. In cases where synthetic products are required, I utilise them with the greatest of care to minimalise environmental impact.
WEED CLEARANCE AND CONTROL
I offer a range of different services to deal with weeds, from strimming and brushcutting large areas of scrub to meticulously hand weeding flower beds. I am also fully trained and licenced in chemical spraying. As with the products I use in lawn care, I use an organic weedkiller where possible, but there are many situations where chemical versions are required for sufficient effectiveness, so the level to which I take an organic approach is at my customers' discretion. Where I do use synthetic chemicals, a significant component of my PA1 and PA6 training is in safe application for the environment, minimising impact on wildlife by spraying at the correct times of day and avoidance of seepage into watercourses.
PRESSURE WASHING
Using a powerful 3200 PSI (135 bar) rotary pressure washer, I can quickly and efficiently remove grime from patio, driveways and brickwork to bring them back to their former glory. Being battery powered, only access to a hose is needed but not mains power outlets, making it much easier to reach far areas of gardens, not to mention safer.
